HIGHLIGHTS:
- VOSSTANIYA SQUARE. It is one of most famous metro stations in Saint Petersburg which is located in the city center just opposite to the Moscow railway station in Saint Petersburg.
- OBELISK COLUMN. Hero City Obelisk is a monument in the shape of an obelisk located in Vosstaniya Square. It was installed in 1985 on the victory day of Russia. The Obelisk column is decorated with bronze high reliefs devoted to the heroic defense of Leningrad while a gold star shines on its top and it’s a second highest stone monument in Saint Petersburg.
- MOSCOW STATION. Moscow railway station is the oldest station in Saint Petersburg which was erected in 1844-51 to a design by Konstantin Thon. The station got its present name in 1930 before that it was known as Nicholaevskyskii and Oktyabrsky. The building has a two-storey clock tower at the center and there is a bronze bust of Peter the Great in the main vestibule of the Station.
- KAZAN CATHEDRAL. Kazan cathedral is one of the most prominent churches in Saint Petersburg which is dedicated to the Lady of Kazan ( Russian Goddess ). It is located on Nevsky prospect.
- SINGER’S HOUSE. It was intended to construct the first skyscraper of Russia for Singers sewing machine company but the Saint Petersburg building code did not allow structures taller than the Winter Palace. The six-story building is crowned with a glass tower, which in turn is topped by a glass globe sculpture. Located just opposite of the Kazan cathedral.
