Masada and the Dead Sea
In this Door-to-Door popular tour, I will pick you up from your place of stay with my car.
We will head to the Dead Sea region, the lowest point on Earth. We will drive all the way to Masada. There we will take the cable-car up to the top of the mountain fortress and spend about two hours touring this site which is the second most visited site in Israel (after Jerusalem). You will hear about the way King Herod built this place, his palace, supplied it with water and food at the middle of the Judean desert. We will talk about the Jewish Revolt which led to the destruction of Jerusalem and of the Temple, and the last stand in Masada of Jews against Rome.
Masada is one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites. For a complete list of these sites in Israel, click the following link UNESCO
After Masada, we will follow a trail in the Nature Reserve of Ein Gedi and get wet (in warm season) into some of the waterfalls along this trail. During the visit, we will talk about King David and will see both Flora and Fauna on site (hopefully).
Finally, we will head north towards one of the beaches of the Dead Sea to enjoy a Dead Sea's unique experience of floating on water ! The beach is fitted with changing rooms, toilets, showers, shops, bars, etc. The entrance fee is included in this tour.
Then we will head back to your place of stay.
