5 hours Walking Tour of Old City of Jerusalem

Our day will start at the Jaffa Gate, here we will conect  the history of the Old and New Jerusalem. Once we   officially enter the Old City, we will pass the Tower of David, one of the emblematic buildings of Jerusalem. After crossing the Armenian Quarter, with it typical and colorful shops.

We will exit the walls again through the Zion Gate and enter Mount Zion where we will visit important sites associated with events described in Holy Scriptures.

The first stop will be at the beautiful church called "Dormition Abbey", built by the German Benedictine Order to commemorate the place in which Mary, the mother of Jesus, felt asleep.

Not far from the church we will visit the upper room that is believed to be the place where Jesus and the disciples had the Last Supper.

Before going back inside of the walled city, we will stop at the Tomb of King David, the Israelite king that conquered  the city and made it the capital of the kingdom 3000 years ago.

After entering to the walled city we will walk through the Jewish Quarter, where is hidden one of the pearls of Jerusalem: the Roman Cardo. Used for centuries as the main street of the city where most of the commercial and social activities were taking place. We will continue through the modern shopping area, where we will learn about ritual objects used in Judaism from centuries until today and we will see the beautiful examples of Jewish modern art.

A few steps from the commercial area we will go back in time, with the help of archaeology and the Old Testament, to the days of Hezekiah, when a miraculous event took place and Jerusalem was saved from destruction.

After a  short walk, we will arrive to the Kotel or Western Wall , the most significant site in the world for the Jewish people, where they had pray for centuries.

Once we leave the Jewish Quarter and enter the Muslim Quarter, we will start to follow the painful path of Jesus on his way to his crucifixion and visit some of the stations in the Via Dolorosa until arriving to the holiest place for Christianity: the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
