Jerusalem Old City day trip

  • We start our visit in the Mount of Olives, a unique site for all the three monotheistic religions. An outstanding panoramic view on the most ancient Jewish cemetery in the world, and continue our visit in the footsteps of Jesus on his last week. Churches commemorating it as Dominus Flevit, Church of Gethsemane, Grotto of Betrayal and Tomb of Mary.

  • We enter the Old City through the Lion's Gate and follow the route of Via Dolorosa. Along this way we can enter other traditional places like the Catholic St. Anne's Church or the Greek Orthodox Birthplace of Mary.

  • Our last station in Via Dolorosa is the magnificent Holy Sepulcher, place of the Golgotha and the burial place of Jesus. (Alternatively we can visit the Garden Tomb).

  • We can't miss the overwhelming colors, aromas and tastes of the bustling market! Enjoy the bargain for some special treasures and souvenirs.

  • Continuing our way to the Jewish Quarter in the shadow of the impressive Citadel of David.

  • Wandering of the streets of the calming Jewish Quarter, a unique mixture of old and new buildings, ancient and modern history. Visiting the Hurva synagogue, a window to the life of the Orthodox Jews.

  • Time travel to the Roman period through the ancient Cardo.

  • Breathtaking view on the holiest site for Jewish people: the Western Wall. Walking on the street, where Jewish pilgrims walked and marveled the magnificent Temple, where Jesus cleansed the holy place from the moneychangers. We can visit the Southern Wall Excavations and finish the day in the Western Wall Tunnels.

• As an alternative we can include the Rampart Walks between Jaffa Gate and Zion Gate
