One reason people hire you as a guide is because they know other people hired you before and likes it. That’s called social proof, which they get with testimonials.
Getting good customer testimonials is about two things: delivering value before you ask and timing of your request.
At the end of your tour is the best moment to ask if they enjoyed your tour. When they answer positive, ask them if they are willing to say a few words in front of your phone camera, so you can record it for future clients. After recording you also ask them if you can send them an email with a link to a review page you own. If you don’t have a review page like Facebook or Tripadvisor, simply ask them to reply by email so you can post it in your Booqify profile.
With your smart phone it is super easy to make a small video yourself which is good for your promotion to potential clients, especially if you follow the following tips:
- Introduce yourself and your guests, with your names and where they are from.
- Say where you are standing or what tour you just did.
- Let them talk and when you want to ask questions stay with the camera on your subject(s) (i.e. your clients).
- In the end put the camera on you and have your gorgeous smile and say something like “Thank you for watching and I hope to see you soon”.
- Attention span of people is short, go for a length of minimum 30 and max 60 seconds.
- Hold your camera horizontal and not vertical.
- Make sure that you don’t move the camera to much.
- Make sure that the camera is close to their faces. So the audio will be good.

When you have a video that you want to upload to promote yourself on the Booqify Channel you can send it by email to info@booqify.com or by Whatsapp to your City Manager’s phone. Do not forget to add the following info:
- Your name:
- Your clients name(s):
- Your clients city/country:
- Your profile page (url) on Booqify:
Add the video as a testimonial to your own profile
After we uploaded your video to the Youtube channel of Booqify, you can copy the code.
Go to the video on Youtube and click on “share” and than “embed” which is an option under the video.
Copy this code and log into your Booqify profile.
Select “My Testimonials” and then click on the “Add Testimonial” button.
Write the name of your clients and paste the code into the message box.
You do not have to upload a picture.
The Youtube code that you have to copy and paste looks like:
